wow, that really is quite amazing. Really, really good. (I’m kind of echoing the dad here – at least I think it may be the dad. The filmmaker.) i am mightily impressed with that child’s technique – especially the pointillism effect he gets with lowly fingerpaint! His brilliant dots! I’m going to try it myself. But in the meantime, I was thinking about how editing, in video, affects credibility. I don’t have any real doubt that the boy made that artwork unaided, but having seen the sped up MTV version, with its jump cuts and soundtrack, I would have been willing and eager to click on another link, if it had been available, to watch another link, a film of the same drawing session, in real time, uncut, no music. That would’ve been fascinating. I’d be willing to bet that the lack of such a link reflects nothing more than the filmmaker’s lack of faith in the youtube audience, in anyone’s willingness to sit still for more than a few seconds in front of a monitor. But I’d have watched the film. Would’ve been fascinating. Short of that, this short version was pretty wonderful, too. So glad you posted it, so glad I saw it!
